Bling in 2006

Here We GO…2006!!!  Remember freaking out about it being 2000? And now we’re 6 years in to this 2000 thing! I said good-bye to 2005 with a bang- a BIG one!! Annika got married and man, was it quite “The Wedding!!”… We spent 5 days out in Palm Desert getting ready for the wedding, and celebrating AFTER the wedding was over…..from Rehearsal dinners to water aerobics, to lunches to fiestas to a Bling in the New Year party the night after the wedding- wow!!!……I have to admit that I’ve spent the better part of 2006 in detox!:)

Spencer and i are back in hawaii- still living in a tent (as we were the first part of December)- wishing, hoping and waiting for our wonderful landlord to go back to California so we can move back into our little grass shack on the beach. But ya know- our camp site isn’t worth complaining about- It’s right in front of a perfect surf break, with a calm little bay that I can swim (or bathe) in….And we’re camping inside a construction site of a multi-million dollar home- The site is totally fenced in, so at night we feel really safe- And in the morning we can peek out or little tent window right out at the ocean- Quite the surf check for Spencer!:) We’re just thankful that we’re together while going through this- Cause God knows I wouldn’t have been able to do this myself! It’s fun getting creative at dinner time- We’ve learned that we’re not going to save our rent money if we fall victim to eating out….So we’re trying to put the camping stove to use- And we’re even considering going “raw”…It’s pretty easy when you don’t feel like lighting up the stove, or don’t want to do dishes in the dark- Just have some vegetables and hummus! that probably won’t last too long though!  In the morning, before the construction workers come to work, we go “shower off” with the hose (aren’t we lucky? the “house” has running water!!)…Shaving my legs has a whole new meaning now!…….

We’re planning on staying in hawaii until the end of September- my best friend Shannon and her man  Graham are getting amrried out here in mid-September. Then I have a funny feeling that Spence and I will be hittin’ the road!….There’s too many places to see for us to stay put in hawaii!…XX
