As I lay in the hammock yesterday afternoon, Spencer was out climbing coconut trees and taking lessons from the “locals”….Upon his return, he came back quite humbled….It took him an hour to get just one coconut. While Spencer hung from the tree, a toothless barracho (drunk) that looked as if he were 80, stumbled over to the tree and said in a slurred spanish, “let me teach you” and in less than a minute he was amidst the cocos swatting at them with his bare hands (no machete). and a minute later he was down on he sand, and two slices later, spencer was drinking the coco water. Two hours later, we drank rum drinks with fresh coco jelly!! sooooo…..we promise you some delicioso pipa drinks in a little more than a few months if you get your act together! 🙂
I just spent some time looking at airfare, and wanted to share some pretty killer deals with you. They are all from LAX, but that should be pretty comparible to anywhere else (probably a bit more if you leave from a smaller airport), and even more from Hawaii :)….sorry guys!! http://www2.blogger.com/www.cheapoair.com quoted me $499 into Liberia (LIR) if you fly home on January 7th instead of Sunday the 6th…… That’s INCREDIBLE!! http://www2.blogger.com/www.orbitz.com quoted less than $600 into Liberia (which is a two hour drive from Playa Guiones)http://www2.blogger.com/www.Usair.com quoted me $529 r/t into San Jose and from there there are puddle jumpers or buses or cars. These were by far the cheapest I found, and my experience with cheapoair and orbitz has always been really good! Orbitz is good, because you can customize the trip you want, and pick a price and they will email you when the fare goes beneath the price you want…if it goes that cheap.
Anyways- I know some of you have expressed doubt in being able to come,…..But we just thought we’d keep tempting you! 🙂
