Our New Pets

I’ve been unpacking a box or two a day. Today I unpacked the SE Memorabilia box. Or shall I say, The SE BOXES. There are so many. It’s incredibly special to look through all the creations that Spencer and I have made each other over the years, especially before we had kids. More on all that at another time. But something I found in one of the boxes, was the two small shells that Spencer gave me on this last wedding anniversary, symbolizing the two perfect conch shells that we found the day we swam to pink island, in 2003. Then I also found a shell we found in Baja, Mexico in 2004. I put them on a little silver platter from Argentina that is on our kitchen table. Can you tell that I am just loving this whole HOME thing?

Tonight at dinner, Gavin was checking out the new additions. And then he picked up the one from Mexico and said, “What’s this guy’s name?” And so we named him Baja. And then he asked if he and Deia could be the two small conch shells. So now we have a “Baja, Gavin, & Deia.”
