Busytown

We don’t have a TV, but we do have a monthly membership on Netflix. When Spencer and I are needing a minute or 60, we let Gavin watch TV or movies on the computer. His favorite right now is definitely “Cat in the Hat,” and I love to hear him giggling at the Cat. And I usually find myself singing “Up up up and away,” and something about a “thing-a-midger,” and “come fly with the cat in the hat today.” That’s when Spencer walks out of the room.

Among the cat, “Busytown” is another favorite. Huckle and Big Hilda are pretty popular over here in “Things That Go.” Speaking of which, if you are into kids birthday parties, check out my friend Annika’s party blog and the party she threw for her son.

Speaking of Busytown, when I got home from the grocery store the other day, Gavin and Spencer had built their own town! Complete with all of our “friends” that we’ve gathered from Costa Rica, my childhood, Spencer’s childhood, San Clemente, Virginia Beach, and now here.  And two days later it still stands…. which is unbelievable since Deia is basically running around the house at just 11 months. I think it might actually keep her away because it’s bigger than she is.
