Gavin is thriving at Teacher Nancy’s….. he wants to go every single day, including Saturday and Sunday. He even asks to go after his afternoon nap. And tonight he informed me that he is sad and upset that other kids go on the days he can’t go. And then he said he would have a little talk with his teacher about that. Well, okay then! I wished him the best of luck, because I would actually like for him to be invited to go a couple more days a week, too. He comes home exhausted, stimulated, and smarter. And ready for lunch and a nap. perfecto. And today he even came home with a flower and painting for MwaH!:) The other day he spelled and wrote c a t. Yahooo!

We think of Deia as a cat sometimes. You know that saying about how dogs live with their owners. And “owners” live with cats. Well, I sometimes feel like we are all living with Deia. She is running the show at times, which I admit with my head down. This whole screeching thing is crazy. Sometimes it’s funny. But when we’re in Foodland, or TJ Maxx, or the local health food store, the post office, or walking in the serene neighborhood of our new Home…… I want to just do ANYTHING to make her stop. How do you discipline and tell a ten month old to not screech in that octave? I’m just waiting for the new neighbors to call the police at dinner time. I mean, Deia…..give me TWO seconds for your 3rd bowl of food. Please!! If I’m not on top of things, she just starts screeching. And it rattles me so. Well, at least we don’t have to go on an airplane for awhile. I cannot even stand to think about that with a screecher. We are continuing on with the baby sign language in hopes that it helps her communicate.

Other than her screeching, she is such a joy and light and sweetness. We all laugh at her and our hearts are definitely softened when she toddles over to Gavin and lays her head down on him, or offers her lips for a kiss, or lays her head on Spencer’s shoulder. She gets so excited when Spencer and Gavin walk into a room- she practically jumps out of my arms. And when Spencer is holding her, she is so relaxed and content and in love. What a sight to witness. She exudes peace, joy and love…..
until she screeches.
