Rainy Day Fun

The rainy season has begun here in Nosara. Thank goodness! So that means no more dust, not as many tourists, cooler days, green plants galore and the desire to be inside and play and bake! Last May, June and July we had a REALLY rainy few months. Like all day every day. But Gavin had just turned one and was still napping a couple times a day. This year, we’ve got a toddler on our hands that needs to be stimulated and challenged! So I’ve been trying to get creative with him, so that he can be self-sufficient to create on his own, too. My goal is to introduce at least 3 activities a week to keep some sanity around the house.

Our first morning of rain brought us pasta and string. An oldie, but goodie…..Gavin had fun threading the pasta onto  the string after he realized he couldn’t eat it.

We started with large noodles and then a couple days later I put some smaller penne in the bowl.

One friend suggested dying some of the noodles with food coloring or kool-aid.  Maybe next time around, but for now- I like it simple and sweet!

We made our noodle guy nice and long so we could make him into different designs and shapes to.

A simple way to provide some stimulus and creativity!
