Seed(s) to Flower(s)

Two years ago today, spring brought me a flower in the form of Gavin Jordan Klein. That flower burst my heart open wide and caused it to exponentially grow like I never knew was possible. What a most wondrous two years it has been with him, filled with adventure, laughter, amazement, love, and growth. Being a mama has broken me, rebuilt me, shaken me, restructured beliefs and habits. The metamorphosis from Emily to Mama Emily could not have been more appropriate March 20, 2009.

Today, on this Spring Equinox, I want to share with you that I have another seed planted that I am currently tending to. We will be meeting this flower around the first day of fall (September 23).

I think of each one of you as a gardner in my life. Helping me to grow, as well as my family. Thank you for being part of my village, whether I see you once a year or every other day. Or maybe we’ve just been emailing for a year now, due to distance. Regardless, it takes a village to raise a child- yes. But it also takes a village to maneuver around in life and keep growing and living more

 consciously.
